About the role
We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and experienced Document Controller to join our growing team in Dubai. This is a critical role within our facade and glazing operations, responsible for managing the full lifecycle of project documentation — from technical submittals and shop drawings to site correspondence and handover records. The ideal candidate has a solid background in UAE construction projects, a thorough understanding of document management systems, and hands-on experience in the facade and glazing industry. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and clients to ensure documentation flows efficiently and accurately across all stages of the project.
Key responsibilities
Manage, organise, and maintain all project documentation including drawings, submittals, RFIs, and correspondence
Control the distribution of shop drawings, technical submittals, and material approval documents to relevant parties
Maintain up-to-date drawing registers and document logs using EDMS or similar document control systems
Coordinate with engineers and site teams to ensure timely submission and revision tracking of all facade documentation
Liaise with clients, consultants, and main contractors to process, transmit, and track document approvals
Ensure all glazing system documentation — including test reports, warranties, and compliance certificates — is filed and accessible
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly document status reports to the project management team
Support the project closeout process by compiling and handing over final documentation packages to clients
Requirements & qualifications
Mandatory
3–5 years of proven experience in document control within the facade and glazing industry
Mandatory
UAE construction experience is essential — prior work on UAE-based projects required
Mandatory
Strong knowledge of document control procedures, technical submittals, shop drawings, and site documentation
Mandatory
Good understanding of facade and glazing system documentation, including curtain wall, cladding, and aluminium systems
Mandatory
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management tools such as Aconex, Procore, or similar
Mandatory
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Preferred
Experience working directly with aluminium, curtain wall, or glass facade contractors or subcontractors
Preferred
Familiarity with UAE construction standards, FIDIC contracts, and consultant/client submission procedures
Preferred
Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines
Preferred
Arabic language skills are a plus; strong written and spoken English is required
