Accounts Clerk
About the role
Aanari Hotel & Spa is looking for a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Clerk to join our Finance team. This role will support both Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions within our dynamic hospitality environment. The successful candidate will work alongside existing team members, provide coverage when required, and help improve overall efficiency within the department. Job responsibilities
- Prepare and send customer invoices and statements in a timely and accurate manner
- Follow up on outstanding balances and manage collections effectively
- Record incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records in the accounting system
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer queries
- Process supplier invoices and ensure all proper documentation is in place
- Prepare and follow up on payment runs, ensuring timely disbursements
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly
- Maintain accurate records of all payables and vendor accounts
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve invoice and payment queries
General responsibilities
Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure accounts are balanced and accurate
Maintain proper filing and documentation of all financial records and correspondence
Support month-end closing activities including journal entries and account reviews
Provide backup support within the accounts team as and when needed
Assist the Finance Manager with ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required by the department
Candidate profile
Required profile
- ✓Basic understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
- ✓Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all work
- ✓Good organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- ✓Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy
- ✓Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- ✓Fast learner with a positive, proactive attitude and willingness to improve
- ✓Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Nice to have (plus)
- ★University degree or Higher Education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- ★Prior experience in a similar Accounts Clerk or Finance Assistant role
- ★Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Odoo or similar hotel accounting software
- ★Experience working in a hospitality, hotel, or spa environment
- ★Knowledge of VAT and local tax compliance regulations
