Position Overview
A reputed company based in Doha, Qatar, is urgently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates or early-career accounting professionals from India, Sri Lanka, or the Philippines who are currently based in Qatar and available for immediate joining. The ideal candidate will have a solid academic foundation in accountancy, basic hands-on experience, and a strong eagerness to grow within a professional work environment.
Position Highlights

- Experience Level: Fresh graduates or up to 1–2 years of experience.
- Preferred Nationalities: India, Sri Lanka, Philippines.
- Availability: Immediate joining required.
- Documentation: Valid NOC and QID mandatory.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Accounting & Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline (mandatory).
- Professional accounting qualification (CAT, CPA foundation, ACCA foundation, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Fresh graduates are strongly encouraged to apply — academic excellence will be considered.
Experience Required
- Fresh graduates with a strong academic background in accountancy are welcome to apply.
- Candidates with up to 1–2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance support roles will be given preference.
- Prior internship or part-time experience in an accounting or finance department is an advantage.
- Experience within a trading, contracting, or service company in Qatar or GCC is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial reporting (mandatory).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel — including formulas, spreadsheets, and data organisation — is required.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, Peachtree, SAP, or any equivalent ERP system is a plus.
- Ability to prepare and maintain basic financial records including journals, ledgers, and trial balances.
- Basic understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of invoice processing, expense tracking, and petty cash management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day accounting operations including data entry, journal entries, and ledger maintenance.
- Support the preparation of monthly financial statements, trial balances, and management reports.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and petty cash management.
- Maintain and organise financial records, invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation in an orderly manner.
- Support the preparation and processing of supplier payments, staff expense claims, and reimbursements.
- Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and ensure compliance with Qatar tax regulations.
- Coordinate with other departments to gather financial data and resolve billing or payment queries.
- Assist senior accountants and the finance manager with audits, financial reviews, and month-end closing activities.
- Perform any other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by management.
Skills & Personal Attributes
- Good communication skills in English — both spoken and written — are required.
- Proficiency in Arabic (spoken or written) is an added advantage for client and supplier communication.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and numerical aptitude.
- Strong sense of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics in handling financial data.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently under supervision.
- Good organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibilities over time.
Eligibility & Documentation
- Must be currently based in Qatar — applications from outside Qatar will not be considered.
- Valid Qatar ID (QID) is mandatory.
- NOC (No Objection Certificate) from current employer is required for candidates already employed in Qatar.
- Must be ready and available to join immediately upon selection.
- Preferred nationalities: India, Sri Lanka, Philippines (other nationalities meeting the requirements may also apply).
