About the role
QDC Qatar is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic project team. This is a key role within our construction operations, responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of our projects — from initial estimates and tender submissions through to final accounts and cost reporting. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of relevant quantity surveying experience and will have a strong command of cost planning, contract management, and commercial reporting within the construction or engineering sector. A valid, transferable Qatar residency visa is a mandatory requirement for all applicants.

A valid Qatar transferable residency visa is mandatory. Candidates on a visit visa or outside Qatar will not be considered. Only applicants with a transferable visa status will be shortlisted.
Key responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documents for construction projects
Manage all commercial aspects of the project including procurement, valuations, and interim payment applications
Monitor project budgets and cost plans, reporting variances and recommending corrective actions to management
Administer contracts (FIDIC, NEC, or similar) and manage change orders, claims, and variation notices
Conduct site measurements and quantity take-offs to support progress claims and interim certificates
Prepare and negotiate final accounts and settlement of subcontractor and supplier accounts
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and client representatives on all commercial matters
Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and commercial risk assessments for stakeholders
Requirements & qualifications
Mandatory
Minimum 5 years of proven quantity surveying experience in the construction or engineering industry

Valid Qatar transferable residency visa — non-negotiable requirement for all applicants

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and contract administration (FIDIC preferred)

Proficiency in QS software (CostX, Candy, or similar) and Microsoft Office
Mandatory
Excellent written and spoken English with strong negotiation and communication skills

Membership or working towards MRICS (RICS accreditation) is a strong advantage

Prior experience on large-scale Qatar or GCC infrastructure or building projects
Preferred
Knowledge of Qatar construction regulations, Ashghal standards, and local procurement practices
Preferred
Arabic language skills are an advantage; strong analytical and problem-solving ability required
